The concept originated from "tickets for crossing to the afterlife", which is an item used in Taoism funeral ceremonies. Designed with Adobe Illustrator.
Logo design for What The Show, an amateur theatre group in Hong Kong founded in 2023.
The figure ¯\(乜)/¯ took reference from the famous shoulder shrugging emoticon (顔文字) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 「乜」is a Chinese character and in Cantonese it means "What". The words and the emoticon as a whole resemble an actor on stage shrugging his/her shoulder. Designed with Adobe Illustrator.
Hong Kong Citizen News (Daily China News) Animation - Xinjiang Pear Dispute (2021)
Hong Kong Citizen News is Civic Journalist Ltd.'s online news outlet, where I worked as a graphic designer, producing design templates and animations daily (mostly for the China news team).
This clip is from a China news story about fruit retail. I created all the animation with After Effects (and sometimes with Cinema 4D Lite that comes in the package) and Illustrator, where I altered stock illustrations to meet the story's needs. Not all the illustrations were stock, less complicated ones were most likely created from scratch. I usually had to use stock materials because the animations had to be done within the day.
